Communication Anxiety

Communication Anxiety is the fear of speaking in front of others, especially big groups. It is actually a very common fear. Perhaps we fear speaking in front of others because we want others to like us and know that people are constantly judging us. While making a speech, though, we are more apt to be anxious because of the spotlight effect. The spotlight effect is defined as the tendency to believe that other people are paying closer attention to one's apperance or behavior than they really are.
